The above photographs were taken by Hilliard Crown who "died peacefully in his home on February 2, 2005. Hilliard was born in Montreal, Canada in 1914. He was a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII. A longing for wide open spaces brought him out west after the war and he settled in Santa Fe. Here he met and married Charmaine Gaffney. They had one daughter, Rebekah. He worked briefly for the State of New Mexico and later built his own practice of accounting in his home. He was involved with photography, community theater, art and politics and could often be seen at his favorite watering hole debating with his many friends in Santa Fe. Hilliard is survived by his daughter Rebekah; son in law Paul Martel and granddaughters Siobhan and Solange Martel; as well as his many friends who were like family to him."
